Episode 1
Yukari is late, so she tricks a student and steals his bike. We are introduced to Chiyo, the adorable child genius! Sakaki has her first encounter with Kamineko and everyone thinks she's been in a fight. Tomo challenges Chiyo and Sakaki to activities she has no hope of winning. Finally, Osaka arrives and decides it's time to get her act together!

Episode 2
Osaka ponders her attention span while playing with a bar of soap and then proceeds to chase dust particles with her eyes. Tomo kills a cockroach and the girls practice volleyball. Osaka gets the hiccups from spicy food and Tomo attempts to beat it out of her, until they are finally passed to Chiyo. Then Osaka daydreams about Chiyo's pigtails...

Episode 3
The girls find out that Yukari and Nyamo were classmates in high school. In an attempt to become more popular, Yukari forces the students the play basketball with her. Later, Yukari visits Nyamo to use her bed and rant about her squishy yet firm Danish pillow. Then Yukari breaks Nyamo's new bear statue, so they go out for drinks, where Nyamo gives her a lesson in chopsticks and Yukari drinks till she drops.

Episode 4
The girls have their first swimming class and creepy Kimura insists on coming to watch. However, Nyamo kicks him out after he makes a crack about her age. Wacky hijinks and weird conversations about floating corpses ensue. Yukari shows up and challenges Nyamo to a relay race, which Nyamo's team has no trouble winning, despite Osaka's presence.

Episode 5
It's summer vacation and Nyamo forces Yukari to plan out her time, which involves a great deal of sleeping. The girls visit Chiyo's house and she offers to take them to her summer home for vacation. Yukari and Nyamo also go along for the ride. Tomo goes watermelon smashing, while Osaka discusses hemorrhoids and tells a scary story in which she is a criminal.

Episode 6
It's the P.E. festival and Yukari wants to win win win! With the promise of free juice, the class does just that! Kagura's "real" first appearance, Sakaki beats her.

Episode 7
It's time for the cultural festival, which somehow involves the selling of homemade dolls and a giant cat costume. Sakaki pets Tadakichi-san. Tomo runs around like a maniac in a giant cat costume. Kimura decides that the swim team should wear their swimsuits everywhere, while Yukari gets drunk on orange juice.

Episode 8
Dream episode! Osaka continues to obsess over Chiyo-chan's pigtails in her dream, while Tomo thinks she some sort of super hero beauty queen athlete genius. Sakaki dreams that mini-Chiyo gives her her father as a cat, and then she visits Chiyo, her father, and their penguin maid. It's no surprise that Kaorin dreams of Sakaki saving her on a white horse.

Episode 9
Sakaki likes cats. It's Chiyo-chan's birthday! Sakaki fantasizes about all sorts of cute and cuddly things. The girls have a birthday party for Chiyo, while Sakaki continues to live in her own little cutesy dream world.

Episode 10
The girls become juniors, and not so surprisingly, they all end up in Yukari's class. Kagura appears and declares that she's Sakaki's rival, though Sakaki doesn't remember who she is. Chiyo gets sick of being called "cute" and accosts a new student in the hall. Tomo causes a big ruckus by eating lunch early. Yukari finds a kitten, but much to Sakaki's dismay, it runs away.
